When Framingham resident Sherry Weinstein was a teenager growing up in Brooklyn, one of her favorite past-times was going window shopping at New York‚s finest department stores and boutiques. Back then, she dreamed that one day she would own her own retail shop that would feature hand-picked unique fashions and gifts. Ten years ago, Sherry began to realize her dream when she opened Selections original store in Wayland. She initially shared space with a well-known nail salon and the innovative store featured handbags, jewelry and accessory items that could not be found in the local shopping malls and large department stores.
In 2004, Selections relocated to a larger space in Framingham Center and now operates as a growing stand-alone business. The shop expanded once again in 2006 and now also features select apparel, gifts, footwear and a significantly expanded line of handbags and accessories that are constantly being updated. “We try to offer our customers personalized service and a continuously changing inventory of accessory and gift items that are highly individualized, imminently tasteful yet affordable”.

Jewelry Collection
Selections offers unique jewelry by artists and craftsmen. We currently feature three local artists: Betty Thorner (Sudbury) creates antique beaded jewelry exclusively for Selections. Nurit (New Hampshire) is an Israeli artist with a distinctive line of wire-and-beaded jewelry. Jewelry by Cindy (Natick) features copper and turquoise creations. Doevigne (California) fabricates museum-quality pins, necklaces and earrings using combinations of metal, paper and wood. We also feature a complete line of jewelry products whose quality and appearance is similar to other well-known American artists but at highly affordable prices.
Handbag Collection
Selections offers “everyday” bags representing a distinctive collection of printed vinyl, fun cloth materials and luxurious leather bags from Italy. Our handbags cover a broad price range from $25 to $210. Selections is best-known for our broad array of handbag choices — Sherry is better known in many circles as “The Bag Lady” when participating in fund-raising events. We also carry a highly unique line of evening bags featuring Mary Frances and Whiting and Davis (a company that has been manufacturing handbags since 1906 and is best-known for their mesh handbags in various colorizations) as well as many other reasonably priced silk handbags.
Gift Collection
Selections carries a broad array of gift items that range from fun pottery to metal-sculpted wine holders (prices ranging from $10 to $45). None of these items will be found at the mall or large retail establishments. One of our best-selling items over the past two years has been a pie server ($15) with a removable magnetic shoe. We stock a novel, colorful line of hand-dipped and painted candlesticks created by women of South Africa. Proceeds are used to help support their children. We offer a unique personalized line of baby gifts that are hand-painted and personalized with the baby’s name: piggy banks, stepstools, picture frames and rocking chairs.
